Using a Face Mask

A face mask is added to your skincare routine depending on whether it is a wash-off face mask, sheet mask, or overnight mask.

Wash-off Face Mask Apply immediately after cleansing, leave on for the time specified on the product (usually 5-20 minutes), then wash off.

Sheet Mask Place on the face after toner, leave on for the recommended time, then remove the sheet and gently pat the remaining essence into the face and neck. Finish with serum if desired, but at least with moisturizer.

Overnight Mask Apply as the last step of your evening routine, either after moisturizer or instead of it. As the name suggests, leave the overnight mask on overnight; there is no need to wash it off. In the morning, rinse your face with water (and if needed, a water-based cleanser).

What to do after using a face mask?

Always apply at least moisturizer after using a face mask (except for overnight masks).

After a wash-off face mask, you can also add toner, essence, serum, and/or ampoule from your skincare routine before applying moisturizer, if you wish.

After a sheet mask, apply at least moisturizer, but depending on the type of sheet mask (whether it is enriched with essence or serum), you can also add serum and/or ampoule.

Do you need to wash off a face mask?

Korean sheet masks are not washed off; after the recommended time, gently pat the remaining essence into the skin.

Wash-off face masks, such as clay masks, should be washed off after the recommended time, as the name suggests.

Overnight masks do not need to be washed off; rinse your face normally in the morning with water (and if needed, a water-based cleanser).
